The Northern Ontario Walleye Trail (NOWT) Board of Directors hopes this message finds you well during these trying times. We would like to take a moment to keep everyone abreast of our current plan of action for the upcoming tournament angling season. We believe it is imperative to heed the advice, recommendations and guidelines set forth by our local, provincial and national governing bodies and health agencies. Our priority, is the health and welfare of our anglers, their families, volunteers, sponsors and host communities. With that being said, the Board of Directors has made the difficult decision to cancel all NOWT sanctioned events for the 2020 season due to Coronavirus (covid-19).

We understand the possibility of some or all of the restrictions being lifted at some point this season prior to some of our scheduled events. But as a Board, we have decided in fairness to all anglers and host communities, the NOWT would not be sanctioning any events for the 2020 season. This unprecedented action, is being taken, not only to protect public health, but also the uncertainty of venue availability and the financial stability of our anglers, volunteers and sponsors during these difficult economic times. Please visit our web page www.nowt.ca and face book page for ongoing updates.

We are encouraging our anglers to practice responsible social distancing measures to do their part to help limit the spread of this disease. We anticipate coming back in 2021 with an even stronger series. We have listed a few items below that might answer some of the questions/concerns you may have. If you have other questions, feel free to contact our Board of Directors via email nowtboard@gmail.com

Let’s all do our part and stay safe.
