In two weeks the 2015 NOWT season will kick off at the first event of the year – the Mattagami Lake First Nations Walleye Tournament. In this 16th year of the event the organizers have introduced significant changes to prize distribution. Ultimately, it brings about more opportunity for cash prizes.
With a full field we can expect up to $44,000 in cash prizes to be won over the 2-day tournament. Each day presents a prize board. In the previous format prize distribution was based on the combined 2-day weight totals. The new format provides prizes for weight totals on each day!
In addition to the main prize boards there will also be cash prizes for top 3 big fish weights on each day, and 2 mystery weights for each day.
The MFN Tournament starts with the team/rules meeting on Friday, June 5. Fishing days are June 6 and 7.
